Man reported ‘in difficulty’ in River Nene in Northampton

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: “At about 2.15pm on Wednesday, May 20, Northamptonshire Police received a report that a male was in difficulty in the river between Bedford Road and Billing Aquadrome.

“Emergency services attended the scene, but despite specialist searches of the river, no one has been found in the water.

“It is not known if the male managed to get out of the water further down the river, if this is the case, officers are appealing for him to urgently get in touch to let them know he is safe.

“They would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen the male in difficulty and may have helped him out of the water,” the spokesperson added.

Anyone with information is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 282 of 20/05/26.
