Man jailed for more than six years for number of offences including stealing £8,000 of antiques from Northamptonshire home

A man has been jailed for more than six years for a number of offences, including stealing £8,000 worth of antiques and decorative items from a Northamptonshire home.

Scott Stockbridge appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court on December 2 for sentencing, after he was previously found guilty of burglary, theft, dangerous driving and driving while disqualified.

On March 10 this year, the 47-year-old broke into a property in Welsh Road, Culworth, Northamptonshire and stole a selection of antique and decorative pieces worth approximately £8,000, according to Thames Valley Police.

On May 5 2025, Stockbridge was involved in the theft of an Audi RS6 valued at £118,000 from an address on Candlemas Lane, Beaconsfield. A few hours later, officers from the Metropolitan Police Service spotted the vehicle in London, and a high-speed pursuit followed, during which Stockbridge drove at speeds exceeding 140mph.

The vehicle was later seen entering Cobham, where it was abandoned. NPAS tracked the driver throughout, and Stockbridge was eventually found hiding in a shed. He was then arrested and charged.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Manraj Brar from Thames Valley Police said: “I welcome the custodial sentence handed to Stockbridge for these serious offences, which caused considerable distress to the victims and posed a significant risk to public safety.

“Thanks to the determination of our officers and support from NPAS, Northamptonshire Police and the Metropolitan Police Service, Stockbridge was apprehended and brought to justice.

“We hope this sentence provides reassurance to our communities that we will relentlessly pursue those who commit such crimes."

Stockbridge, of Northcote Avenue, Southall, West London, was sentenced to six years and nine weeks in prison.
