A man with a distinct ginger "afro-style" hair style is being sought by police after he pinned a woman against a wall on a Northampton Street.

Officers are seeking information in connection with an alleged assault that took place in The Mounts area of Northampton.

A man is said to have pinned a woman against a wall in Bailiff Street (opposite Deal Street) when two members of the public removed him from the victim.

The offender was described by a police spokeswoman as a man in his late 40s, about 6ft, with light ginger 'afro-style' hair and stubble on his face. He wore a black bomber jacket and was of medium build.

The incident took place between 10am and 10.30am on Thursday, November 3.
