Man from Northamptonshire village jailed for more than seven years for child sex offence
A man from a Northamptonshire village has been jailed for more than seven years for a child sex offence.
Kenneth Sharman, of Bugbrooke Road, Kislingbury was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on March 6.
The 55-year-old had previously pleaded guilty to arranging/facilitating the commission of a child sex offence, after being arrested by West Yorkshire Police on December 16 2025, at a hotel in Brighouse, Yorkshire.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police confirmed Sharman believed he was in communication with what he believed to be an adult woman discussing her daughter. The person was actually a police officer.
Sharman was sentenced to 90 months – seven-and-a-half years – in prison, according to a Leeds Crown Court spokesperson. He was also given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
