Man chases culprits after they allegedly steal cash from his wallet in busy Northampton street

A man who allegedly had money stolen from his wallet on in a busy Northampton street chased the culprits, but did not manage to catch them.
The man, who is in in 50s, was in St James Road at midday on Sunday (August 9) when the incident happened.

Hide AdAfter leaving the Food Plus Store, the man was approached by a female who allegedly took his wallet from his rear jean pocket, removed a quantity of cash from the wallet and then ran off.
The man also believed two men who were seen at the scene were involved, so he chased them along Harlestone Road, past the Iceland food store, before losing sight of them.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with this incident and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Northamptonshire Police is now seeking witnesses who may have witnesses the incident or have any information that may assist with the investigation.

Hide AdThe first man is described as white, aged 25 to 30, of a slim build with short dark hair. He was wearing a lime green hooded top, dark blue jeans and black trainers.
The second man was also white, aged 25 to 30, of a slim build and was wearing a woolly hat, green Parka jacket, dark jogging bottoms and trainers.
