Man charged in connection with drugs offences after police found 70 wraps in a car in Corby

Two men have been charged in connection with drugs offences after police uncovered drugs in a vehicle in Corby.

The car - with two occupants - was stopped in Gainsborough Road at around 2.45pm and officers found 70 wraps after searching the vehicle.

Mateus Rodrigues Dacosta, 22, of Lapland Walk in Corby was arrested and charged in connection with the drugs offence.

A 25-year-old also arrested in connection with the offence has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

The central tasking team - a team of plain clothes police officers in Northampton and Kettering - tweeted earlier today: "A second drug dealer was charged and remanded last night by our relentless team. We have said it before, if you deal drugs and commit crime in Northamptonshire you could be next."
