Man assaulted in Northampton town centre after another man made unwanted advances towards his partner

A 43-year-old man was assaulted in the Wig and Pen pub on St Giles Street, Northampton, between 11.30pm on Saturday (September 5) and 12:30am on Sunday (September 6).

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said the man was headbutted and punched - causing him to fall to the floor - after another man made unwanted advances towards his partner.

The victim sustained cuts to his mouth, swelling and bruising. The offender was accompanied by another man.

Northamptonshire Police have released an image of a man who they believe may have information about this incident.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: “This man may be able to assist with our enquiries and we are appealing for him, or anyone who may recognise him, to get in touch.”
