A man charged with the murder of a Northampton man who was found dead in a house last week has appeared in court.

Andrew Pomroy was found dead at a property in Littlewood Close, Dallington, just after 10am on Tuesday (June 23).

Today, Dale Peter Bates, of Sulgrave Road, Dallington, appeared in Northampton Crown Court charged with murder.

The 43-year-old spoke only to confirm his name and address.

He was remanded into custody and will appear again at Northampton Crown Court on September 25.

The charges brought against Bates allege that he murdered Mr Pomroy sometime between June 20 and June 23.

Northamptonshire Police are appealing for witnesses who may have information over the incident from any time within those three days.
