Man and two 17-year-olds convicted of GBH after teen stabbed multiple times in broad daylight in Northampton town centre
A man and two 17-year-olds have been convicted of Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH), after a teenager was stabbed multiple times in broad daylight in Northampton town centre.
Hamza Zaki Sharif, aged 23, previously of Simons Walk, was found guilty of GBH on Tuesday November 4, after a six day trial at Northampton Crown Court.
Two 17-year-olds, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to GBH at the same court on September 3.
The convictions related to the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy in Abington Street on May 19 this year, close to Costa. The teen was stabbed multiple times in the abdomen and was in a critical condition when police officers arrived on scene. He is now continuing with his recovery.

The offenders fled the scene, but were later arrested and charged with attempted murder.
Lead investigator - Detective Constable Georgia Sampson said: “This was an absolutely horrific attack in what is probably the most central and busiest street in Northampton, and the victim is so lucky to still be here.
“Thankfully, he survived the assault and continues with his recovery, and I hope this result provides him with some sense of justice and closure.
“I’d also like to thank the members of the public who took immediate action when this incident happened and provided the boy with first aid. Their actions, alongside those of the ambulance crews, undoubtedly saved his life.”
Detective Inspector Tony Kennedy added: “Tackling knife crime and serious violence is a priority for Northamptonshire Police and I hope this case sends a strong message that we will never tolerate this type of behaviour and will work tirelessly to bring the offenders to justice.
“The response to this incident from the whole Force was exemplary - from our initial response which led to the quick arrest of three armed males, to the dedication and determination of DC Sampson, who worked a 24-hour shift to secure charges against them.
“We will continue working hard to ensure more people like these three males end up where they belong - behind bars.”
All three convicted of GBH will be sentenced at Leicester Crown Court on December 5, 2025.
