Man admits attempted murder of 63-year-old woman in Northampton

Philip Green, appeared at Northampton Crown Court after he was arrested in Portland Place, off Wellingborough Road, on February 7.

Matthew Lowe, prosecuting, said the victim of the attack was still in hospital but was out of a critical condition and had a “good” prognosis for recovery.

Mr Lowe said she had suffered serious injuries to her throat.

Sentencing was adjourned until later this year.
