A man is due in court today (Tuesday) carged with various offences including GPH wounding with intent after a 54-year-old was found seriously injured in a Northampton street.

Police revealed officers were called to reports of a disturbance in Grange Park at 4:30pm on Sunday.

They found the man with a number of serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Christopher Hulland, 28, of The Oaks, has been charged with GBH wounding with intent, two counts of common assault and possession of a bladed article and remanded in custody after appearing at Northampton Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday).

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "Detectives investigating the incident are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in The Oaks area between 4:15pm and 4:30pm to contact them.

"Witnesses or anyone with information about this incident can call police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

"Officers would like to reassure the local community that this was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing risk to the public."
