"One 37-year-old Birmingham man was arrested for driving while disqualified and is currently in custody. The vehicle was seized as having no insurance."

The spokeswoman said there was no connection between this incident and recent concerns over potential dog thefts in the area.

"The force would urge anyone with concerns about suspicious activity to always report it to 101 or online, providing as much detail as possible. If a crime is in progress or life is at risk, call 999," the spokeswoman said.
