Man, 37, arrested after police stop van in village near Northampton
Suspect arrested and questioned by police
A 37-year-old man was arrested in Harpole today after a van was picked up on ANPR cameras on the M1.
The man, from Birmingham, was arrested on driving while disqualified and questioned by police.
A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Police said: "Following an ANPR activation on the M1, a blue Renault Master van was stopped by officers in High Street, Harpole, at 10.40am today, and the two occupants were questioned.
"One 37-year-old Birmingham man was arrested for driving while disqualified and is currently in custody. The vehicle was seized as having no insurance."
The spokeswoman said there was no connection between this incident and recent concerns over potential dog thefts in the area.
"The force would urge anyone with concerns about suspicious activity to always report it to 101 or online, providing as much detail as possible. If a crime is in progress or life is at risk, call 999," the spokeswoman said.
