Man, 34, jailed for more than six years after being found guilty of rape in Northampton
A 34-year-old man has been jailed for more than six years, after he was found guilty of rape in Northampton.
Oliver George White was sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on October 16, after a jury previously found him guilty of raping a woman.
Just before his trial started in August this year, White also pleaded guilty to a breach of a sexual risk order.
According to Northamptonshire Police, the breach of the sexual risk order occurred on February 6, when White – without any reasonable excuse - failed to notify police of a relationship, which he was required to do under the terms of the order issued by Northampton Magistrates’ Court on March 6, 2024.

The 34-year-old continued to deny three other charges, which he then stood trial for. The jury found him guilty of one count of rape, but not guilty of a second count of rape and one of attempted rape. He was discharged by the presiding judge in relation to these matters.
Detective Sergeant Elizabeth Jeeves, of the Force’s SOLAR Team, said: “Oliver White showed a lack of empathy and remorse towards the survivor in this case, who showed immense courage throughout the trial.
“Without her bravery throughout our investigation and court case, White could still be on the streets, but instead he has rightly been jailed for the abhorrent crime he committed."
White, of Coltman Drive, Loughborough, was jailed for six years and two months and was given an indefinite restraining order prohibiting him from contacting the victim.
