Man, 26, jailed after launching brutal 45-minute attack on woman in Northampton home
A 26-year-old man has been jailed after he launched a brutal, nearly 45-minute attack on a woman in a Northampton home.
Bradley Stuart Marshall, of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on October 21. He had denied charges of assault and criminal damage but was found guilty by the jury.
On March 17, 2024, the 26-year-old launched a vicious attack on the woman inside a property in Northampton, Northamptonshire Police said in a statement.
During the assault, Marshall punched her repeatedly, dragged her off the sofa and around the floor, and tried to hit her head off a step, according to Northamptonshire Police. The attack lasted for nearly 45 minutes with Marshall smashing the victim’s mobile phone, meaning she was unable to call for help. When she finally managed to escape, she ran to a nearby main road and a member of the public let her use his phone to call 999.

Marshall was arrested and subsequently charged with assault and criminal damage.
Lead investigator - PC Sam Whitaker, from the Northampton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “I am really pleased to see Marshall sent to prison for this awful attack and although no sentence can erase the distress this woman felt during the assault, I hope she can take some comfort in this conviction and deliverance of justice.
“Tackling violence against women and girls remains a priority for Northamptonshire Police and we will continue working hard - across every team and department - to put more people like Bradley Marshall behind bars.”
Marshall was sentenced to two years and three months in prison.
