Man, 24, jailed after gang used wood-splitting maul to break into Northampton home
A 24-year-old man has been jailed for being part of a gang who used a wood-splitting maul to break into a Northampton home.
Morgan McGowan, of Monmouth Road, appeared at Northampton Crown Court on February 19 for sentencing.
According to Northamptonshire Police, McGowan was part of a group of males who forced entry into a home in Tresham Green on Tuesday October 13, 2025. A wood‑splitting maul was used to break inside.
Officers are continuing to investigate as efforts to identify the remaining three suspects remain ongoing.

Detective Constable Emma Powell of CID, who led the investigation, said: “This marks a significant step forward in our investigation.
“We believe three other individuals were involved, and we are urging anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area, or who may have CCTV, doorbell or dash‑cam footage, to come forward. The smallest detail could help us identify the remaining suspects and bring them to justice.”
McGown was sentenced to three years and four months in prison.
