A cyclist police believe may have been kidnapped in Northampton has been found safe and well.

Detectives launched an appeal for information after two men were arrested and then released pending further enquiries following a confrontation with the cyclist in Kingsthorpe village.

Two men were later arrested and released pending further police enquiries but officers then issued a second appeal saying they believed the cyclist was dragged into a white van which then drove off from Green End on Friday May 1.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: “After extensive enquiries, the victim in this incident was identified via a media appeal and has now been spoken to and is confirmed to be safe and well. Our investigations into the incident continue.”
