Jailed drink-driver caught nearly three times over the limit in Northampton town centre 11 days after ban
Mare Fair motorist was first sentenced during 2020 Christmas crackdown
The first motorist banned during Northamptonshire's 2020 Christmas drink-drive campaign has been jailed after he was caught behind the wheel 11 DAYS later.
Bogdan Urlache admitted being nearly three times over the limit when Police stopped him driving a Mercedes Vito in Northampton town centre two days before Christmas
Magistrates heard Urlache, 36, was banned for a year on December 12 after refusing to provide a breath specimen in Bridge Street.
They sent him to prison for 16 weeks because he was so far over the limit and was also the subject of a community sentence from his previous offence.
Urlache, from Ivy Road, registered 103 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath after being pulled over in Mare Fair. The legal limit is 35mg.
He also admitted driving while uninsured.
As well as the jail sentence, magistrates banned Urlache for 49 months and ordered to pay £213 in costs and a surcharge to fund victim services.
