Jail for Northampton man who shoved wine glass into woman's face in drunken argument
A Northampton man who savagely cut a woman's face by attacking her with a wine glass in a drunken rage has been jailed.
Daniel Childs, formerly of Stanley Road, had been drinking with the woman in May this year when they began arguing.

Hide AdNorthampton Crown Court heard yesterday (July 9) how the 31-year-old reacted to the row by beating her repeatedly.
"But it seems that wasn't bad enough," His Honour Judge David Herbert told the court in sentencing. "Because you proceeded to take her wine glass and thrust it into her face, which smashed it and caused a laceration.
"As she has said in her victim impact statement, she no doubt thought that you were about to kill her."
The court heard how although Childs was "filled with remorse and shame for what he's done".
Judge Herbert said: "Your offending is so serious that only a custodial sentence can be appropriate."
Childs was jailed for 18 months for causing grievous bodily harm.
