Investigation launched after car was 'deliberately' set on fire in Northampton

Firefighters concluded that a car parked in a Northampton street was "deliberately" set on fire last Tuesday (April 6).

A silver Volkswagen parked in Upper Priory Street - between the Arundel Street and Grafton Street junctions - in Semilong was severely damaged after it was set alight between 10.45pm and 11.15pm.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: "Firefighters attended to put the fire out, with the cause deemed to be deliberate ignition.

"Officers now want to hear from anyone who may have relevant CCTV or dash-cam footage taken in the area at the time of the fire. Anyone with information is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101, quoting incident number: 21000189354."
