Illegal immigrants spotted jumping out the back of a lorry at DIRFT near Rugby

Police received two sets of reports of suspected illegal immigrants jumping out of lorries in Northamptonshire yesterday.

Twice on Tuesday police were called out to the Daventry area after reports of suspected illegal immigrants jumping from lorries.

The first was at 9.27am at Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal (DIRFT) near Crick when two suspected illegal immigrants were found in the back of a lorry. By the time police arrived only one remained, who was detained.

Then at 10.23am the police were called to Royal Oak Way North in Daventry after four people jumped from the back of a lorry. These four were detained by police.

The nationality of all six is not yet known.
