Here’s why there was a large emergency service response at a busy road in Northampton last night

Northamptonshire Police say they were called to a road traffic collision on Kingsthorpe Road involving a taxi and a blue BMW 1 Series at 6.22pm on Tuesday (June 2).

A police spokesman said: “Emergency services attended the scene, and both vehicles were reported to have collided at a junction.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

“A 31-year-old man from Milton Keynes was arrested on suspicion of drug driving. He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.”
