Here’s why a large emergency services response was called to a residential street in a busy part of Northampton.

Eyewitnesses saw around seven police cars and three ambulances in Market Street, just off the Wellingborough Road, on Tuesday (April 30) at around 2pm.

Northants Police say they were called to a collision between the driver of a grey Ford Focus and two pedestrians, which was reported to them shortly after 1.20pm yesterday (Tuesday).

Police said officers and ambulance service colleagues attended, and that a woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries to her torso and a man suffered minor leg injuries. Both were taken to hospital.

A police spokeswoman said: “A 37-year-old Northampton woman was spoken to by officers in relation to the incident and an investigation into the collision is ongoing.

“Anyone who saw the collision or who has information which may be relevant to the investigation can call Northamptonshire Police on 101 regarding incident number 24*251578.2.”
