Fourth person arrested in connection with stabbing near Northampton College

Another person has been arrested in connection with the stabbing near Northampton College.

The incident happened at around 3.50pm on Monday (February 10) in St Gregory’s Road close to the entrance to Northampton College’s Booth Lane campus.A 19-year-old male victim was taken to Northampton General Hospital following the incident. He has now been released from hospital.

Three 17-year-olds, two males and one female, had already been arrested.Police have today confirmed another male, from Northampton, was arrested yesterday (February 13).

A spokeswoman from Northamptonshire Police said: “The victim of the incident in St Gregory’s Road has been released from hospital.

“A third 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding and has been released on police bail.”

This is the fourth arrest to be made in connection with the incident.

Two 17-year-old males and a 17-year-old female who were arrested on Tuesday (February 11) have also been released on police bail.

The other 17-year-old male has been released under investigation.

No charges have been made.

A spokesman for the college previously told Chronicle & Echo: "Northamptonshire Police are investigating and we are co-operating fully with their enquiries.

"The safety and security of our students is our number one priority and we would like to reassure parents that we are taking every necessary step to ensure that this is not compromised."
