Former Northampton man appears in court charged with downloading hundreds extreme pornographic and child abuse images

James Cross was arrested at an address in Wilby Street, Abington, after a number of indecent images of children were uploaded onto a website.
Jerena Tomaszewska, prosecuting, said officers seized digital equipment from the address and a “small number” of indecent images of children were found as well as “hundreds” of extreme pornographic images were found, including some depicting acts of rape.

Hide AdThe court heard officers also found equipment involved in the production of cannabis.
Cross, now of Britannia Drive, Basingstoke - who has recently changed his surname - offered no plea to charges of downloading indecent images of children, possessing extreme pornographic and being concerned in the production of cannabis.
Magistrates’ sent the case to Northampton Crown Court for a plea hearing next month.
