A schoolboy from Northampton was the victim of an attack by a yob driver in Duston who threw a 'stink-bomb type package' at him.

The package hit the boy while he was standing at the bus stop in Main Road with his girlfriend. He was taken to hospital with 'severe sickness' but has since been discharged.

"[He] was just standing with his girlfriend around 6pm in the Duston area and a car drove past them slowly and threw a package at them and it exploded. He has been in hospital all night, he is obviously not well now mentally, and [he's] still being sick.

"This is a random attack on an innocent young lad.

"If anyone knows of other people that have suffered from these cowards please contact the police or message me. Obviously his mother is in pieces. So please, if you can, help do the right thing and let’s catch these scumbags. Thank you."

A Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman said a 'stink-bomb type package' was thrown out of the car.

The spokeswoman said: "This happened on Monday (February 1) at about 5.45pm in Main Road, Duston, when a 15-year-old boy was waiting at the bus stop. As he waited, a car passed and one of the occupants threw something out of the window (unknown what as yet but described as a stink-bomb type package) which hit the boy.

"He was taken to hospital with severe sickness but is thankfully okay now.

"We are investigating this as an incident of GBH and would appeal for anyone with information or anyone who witnessed what happened to come forward."
