6. Vygintas Karenga
The 40 year old started a fire in a pal’s room, causing damage costing £3,500, in a bizarre attempt to summon police to his Corby house of multiple occupation. Karenga had spent all day drinking and smoking cannabis when he claimed to have called 999 about a suspected theft — but got no response. Police found no trace of the 999 call on his phone. He admitted one charge of arson with intent to endanger life and was sentenced to three years. Photo: Northamptonshire Police

7. Frankie Burke
A jury found Burke guilty of threatening a Northampton shop worker at knifepoint and stealing £50 — from a St Andrews Road store. Staff recognised him as a regular customer despite his face covering and he was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison. Photo: Northamptonshire Police

8. Joshua Hall
The 22-year-old of Gotch Road, Barton Seagrave, was sentenced to 32 months for his part in a drug conspiracy that saw crack cocaine and heroin sold across the local area. Photo: Northamptonshire Police
