Evidence from Op Poetry reveals world of Northampton gangs flush with knives, cash and designer brands

Some pictures are taken from the evidence files - and some are from the phones of the gangs themselves

Northamptonshire Police have opened their evidence files to give a glimpse of the spoils earned by County Line gangs who preyed on our town.

This week, the force unveiled the results of a nine-month long operation to stamp out drug gangs in Northampton: 72 convictions, 221 years of prison time and over £1.3m of drugs taken off the streets.

Now, pictures taken of the evidence stacked against the gang members has given a glimpse of the world of cash and flash clothes that drug dealers enjoyed off of Northampton's misery.

County Line gang bosses operate by sending their footsoldiers to rural and smaller towns to set up drug operations while furnishing themselves with the profits.

The evidence pictures show fistfuls of cash and bags of expensive clothing lines they enjoyed by exploiting vulnerable people in our town.

But the pictures - some of which were taken directly from the gang members' phones - also show a bloodied collection of machetes, knuckle dusters and switch blades, alongside thousands of pounds worth of Class A wraps.

DCI Adam Pendlebury says Op Poetry has "driven drug dealing back into the shadows".
