Police have released an E-fit image of a bearded man who attempted to grab a 15-year-old girl in broad daylight on a Northampton street.

Officers describe the suspect as having "a big black beard and a ringlet of hair on the left side of his face."

Police say the suspect tried to grab hold of the schoolgirl before she fled and the man sped away in a grey vehicle.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "The offender is described as being an Asian man, of a stocky build with a big black beard and a ringlet of hair hanging down the left side of his face.

"He was wearing a durag on his head which was tied in a bow on the right hand side, a denim jacket and a cream t-shirt.
