Detectives hunt man in his 50s following sex assault in Northampton town centre

Victim grabbed while smoking in doorway of block of flats

Detectives are looking for a man in his 50s following a night-time sex assault in Northampton town centre.

Northamptonshire Police confirmed the incident happened in St Edmunds Road on April 26, between 9.50pm and 10.10pm, when a man having a cigarette in the doorway of a block of flats was approached by another man.

He asked questions about his sexuality before grabbing the victim inappropriately.

A spokesman said: "A man we want to speak to in connection with the incident is in his 50s and of average build, has short grey hair, dark skin. He was wearing jeans, an orange T-shirt and brown zip-up hoodie. He was also carrying a grey satchel over his shoulder.
