Dangerous driver who sped through Northampton town centre at 60mph jailed
Chase Talbot, aged 28, almost collided with a cyclist and crashed into a metal barrier after he attempted to evade a police patrol car.
Northampton Crown Court heard Talbot, who is disqualified from driving, was spotted swerving from left to right at high speeds on the evening of January 14.

Hide AdKaren Bradley, prosecuting, said Talbot’s VW Golf was recorded travelling at 60mph in a 30mph speed limit area, including roads such as Delapre Crescent Road, Towcester Road and Bridge Street.
She said: “He almost collided with other vehicles on a number of occasions and nearly collided with a cyclist.
“He drove the car on a pedestrian walkway and collided with a metal barrier.”
The court heard Talbot had been given a six-month driving ban in September 2015.

Hide AdTalbot, of St Leonards Road, Northampton, was also charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis.
His Honour Judge Fowler said Talbot had put members of the public “at risk of serious harm”.
He sentenced Talbot to 10 months in prison. He is likely to serve half in custody before being released on licence.
Talbot was also disqualified from driving for 16 months.
