Corby boy admits having knife with 10in blade

A Corby boy who was found wearing a stab-proof vest has pleaded guilty to having a hunting knife with a 10in blade in public.
The 16-year-old, who can't be named because of his age, admitted possessing a bladed article when he appeared before magistrates in Wellingborough.

Hide AdHe was caught with the huge knife, that he tried to conceal down his trouser leg, at about 7.30pm on January 15 in Leighton Road.
He was also found to be wearing a stab-proof vest, police said at the time.
Magistrates sentenced him to a referral order, where he will be referred to a youth offender panel as part of a community sentence.
He will have to agree to take part in a nine-month contract with rehabilitation elements.
