Conditions added after licence review for Northamptonshire pub

Conditions have been added to a pub's licence following a review by councillors.

A licence review for the George and Dragon pub in High Street, Raunds, was carried out by members of East Northants Council’s licensing (liquor and gambling) panel on Monday.

Northamptonshire Police had applied for the review following concerns about the premises trading outside of the hours on its licence and the general management of the premises.

Following the review meeting, members of the panel decided to add two conditions to the premises licence.

These are that a personal licence holder is to be on the premises at all times licensable activity is taking place and that no children under the age of 18 shall be on the premises after midnight whether accompanied by an adult or not.

A spokesman for East Northants Council said there is a 21-day appeal period so the conditions will not be in place until the end of the 21 days or if an appeal is made, until the appeal is heard and a decision is made.
