Detectives' CCTV clue in hunt for two who raided shed

A cheeky thief put on a high-vis jacket nicked along with power tools and paint from a shed in a Northamptonshire village.

But the move could backfire as detectives found a CCTV image of a man they believe could be one of the burglars wearing the jacket standing on the bonnet of the Nissan Navara.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "We believe the man in the image could have information about the burglary which could help us.

"Two white men broke the window of a red Nissan Navara so they could move it from in front of the shed.

"They then broke into the shed and proceeded to steal power tools and paint from inside it, along with a high visibility vest that one of the pair took and put on while carrying goods away down a nearby path."

Police say the burglary happened between 6pm and 6.45pm last Thursday at a property in Grooms Lane, Creaton.

They are asking for the man pictured or anyone who recognises him to come forward, or may have information which could help the investigation, by calling 101 using incident number 21000196895.
