'Cat' thieves trash vehicle in Northamptonshire village and still don't get what they were after

Police believe thieves trying to steal a catalytic converter were responsible for damage to a vehicle in a tiny Northamptonshire village.

The would be thieves wrecked an exhaust and steering frame attempting to get the 'cat' off the parked vehicle in Brockhall — between Northampton and Daventry — sometime between 6pm on on Tuesday (September 15) and 7.10am the following morning.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "Our officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in or around the village.
