Care company director "upset and angry" after two boxes of PPE are taken from outside Northampton care company

The director of a local care company is appealing to the public for help after two boxes of PPE were taken from his company in Brookfield Road, Northampton on Thursday November 12 between 3.30pm and 5.30pm.

Director of ‘Because We Care’, Chay Lynch, left PPE outside of the property for carers to pick up. The PPE was to help protect his staff from COVID-19 as well as vulnerable service users.

A man, who the company believes was not a carer, then came by and took two boxes of the PPE before making off.

Director of ‘Because We Care’, Chay Lynch, said that he feels "angry and upset" that someone felt the need to take equipment - that could protect or save a life - without permission whilst a pandemic is going on.

He said: “I would just like to know why and if anyone knows the individual to either contact us or the police.

“These were all items to protect the most vulnerable in our community and the people who look after them.”

CCTV of man police believe may have information relating to the incident has been released.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: “Anyone with information should contact us quoting the reference number: 2000604741.”
