A car was stopped by a police officer for having no MOT at 8pm last night (December 29) in Saxon Avenue, Northampton.

Once the vehicle was stopped, however, the officer found two children - aged two and four-years-old - were not wearing seatbelts or strapped into any kind of car seat.

The Northampton Special Constables team, on Twitter, said: “Can not stress the importance of appropriate child car seats and actually securing your children into them! Vehicle stopped for No MOT only to find 2x toddlers not secured! Vehicle seized and driver reported.

“Consequences not worth thinking about!”
