Once inside, they discovered around 190 cannabis plants being grown, estimated to be worth up to £10.000.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "Following community information, the team executed a drugs warrant in the south of the town and a further cannabis grow dismantled.

"No arrests have been made at the moment but investigations are ongoing."

The building was home to one of the Nationwide Building Society branches in the town but has been empty since last November.
