A Northampton man has pleaded guilty to breaking into a Northampton home and stealing a collection of army medals.

Grant Picketts, of Alfred Street, entered the house on Billing Road sometime between September 24 and October 7 and made off with a haul of stolen valuables.

Northampton Crown Court heard today (November 18) how the collection included the army medals, alcohol, an antique firearm, five watches, power tools, shoes, pool equipment, money, two knives, as well as food and electrical goods.

He also pleaded guilty to fraud after trying to sell the antique firearm for £40 while claiming it was his, as well as another charge of burglary for entering a home on Upper Thrift Street and making off with stolen alcohol and tobacco.

He will be sentenced on November 24 at Northampton Crown Court.
