Boy punched repeatedly in Kettering after attacker sprayed him with substance

A 17-year-old boy managed to flee from an attacker who punched him repeatedly in Kettering on Tuesday evening (December 1).

The victim was in Barton Road between 5.20pm and 5.40pm when he was approached by a man who he did not know.

The man then sprayed him with an unknown substance and grabbed him before punching him repeatedly in the back.

The victim, who fortunately didn't sustain any injuries, managed to get away and call for help.

A police spokesman said: "The offender was a white man, aged in his late 30s to early 40s, around 5ft 9in and of slim build.

"He had a dark coloured, short beard and was wearing a navy coloured hooded top."
