Boy, 17, charged after Northamptonshire taxi driver assaulted

A 17-year-old boy has been charged after a taxi driver was assaulted in Northamptonshire.

The incident took place at the taxi rank in George Street, Corby, between 6.45am and 7.05am on Saturday (May 7).

A taxi driver was at the rank when he was threatened and dragged from the taxi.

The victim managed to get away from the offender and wasn’t injured in the incident.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has now been charged with the offence.

Police are still appealing for witnesses in connection with this incident and would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information regarding it.
