The offender tried to get away from police on his scooter but a response officer was faster on foot and managed to catch him.

PC Lee, a traffic officer on the Northants safety road team, said: “The 15-year-old rider didn’t care and, when his dad turned up, he told us he is just going to buy him a new one.”

Northamptonshire Police seized the scooter and advised the father of the offender to not purchase his son a new scooter to prevent future offences.
