A victim was pepper sprayed in the face during an attack in a Towcester skate park on Tuesday.

Officers have issued a description of a man in his 20s they suspect carried out the assault at Islington Road recreation ground in the town.

Although used in other countries, such as America, as a self-defence weapon, it is banned here, except for use by law enforcement.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "This incident happened on Tuesday (April 14) between 3.30pm and 3.50pm when a man was pepper sprayed in the face by another man at the skate park.

"The suspect is a white man in his early 20s, of average build, about 6ft tall with blond hair and a missing front tooth. He was wearing a grey hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms.

"If there were any witnesses or if anyone has any information about this incident, please call us on 101 using incident number 20000191935."
