Arson probe launched after Christmas Eve house blaze in Daventry

Detectives have launched an arson investigation following a Christmas Eve house fire in a Daventry cul-de-sac.

Nobody was at home when firefighters were called to a blaze in Apollo Close in the town at around noon.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman revealed: The occupants were out at the time of the blaze and fire investigators have subsequently confirmed it was an arson attack, probably started using an accelerant in the master bedroom."
