Arson investigation launched after blazing Audi found in Northampton industrial estate

Police are hunting suspected car thieves who torched an Audi in a Northampton industrial estate.

Firefighters answered a 999 call to a blazing vehicle in Horsely Road, Kingsthorpe, at around 1am on Tuesday morning.

They found a burning Audi A6 which detectives now believe to have been stolen.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "Our officers were called following reports of a vehicle being alight in Horsley Road at around 1am.

"We are investigating this as an incident of arson as well as looking into the original burglary of the car.

"If anyone was driving in the area of Kingsthorpe at the time of this incident and has a dashcam, we would ask them to please check to see if there is a vehicle matching the description of this car. Anyone who has information, or may have see anything in the area, please call us on 101 or you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you prefer to remain anonymous."
