Armed police and dogs tackled a two-for-one deal after swooping on a thief who targeted a delivery driver's car in Moulton.

Investigations using ANPR cameras tracked the thief to an address in Kettering in less than hour — where officer discovered parcels stolen from the car and the thief's cannabis plants!

The drama stated at 11.30am when the delivery driver’s car was stolen in Moorbridge Road, Moulton.

Officers quickly located the vehicle dumped two miles way in Spectacle Lane in the village with parcels missing from inside.

But it took just 55 minutes for Armed Response squad to locate a suspect vehicle 14 miles up the A43 in Northfield Avenue, Kettering, where the stolen items were uncovered. The suspect's cannabis grow was later discovered during a search of his house.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police confirmed a 30-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
