Appeal for woman 'clipped' by driver's wing mirror during police chase in Northampton to come forward

Police are also appealing for anyone who had damage caused to their car as a result of the pursuit to also come forward

Police officers are appealing for a woman to come forward after she was clipped by a car, which failed to stop for police in Northampton.

At about 8.30am this morning, a gold Land Rover Discovery failed to stop for police officers near Mill Lane in Kingsthorpe. It then rammed the officers’ police vehicles before making off.

A pursuit followed which went through a number of Northampton streets including Harborough Road, Ruskin Road, Yelvertoft Road, Norton Road, Cranford Road, Kingsthorpe Road, Milton Street North, Collingwood Road and Birchfield Road, before the car was eventually stopped in Cedar Road.

The driver, a 45-year-old man, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop for police. He remains in police custody at this time.

Now police officers are appealing for a woman who was clipped by the Land Rover Discovery’s wing mirror during the pursuit, somewhere between Collingwood Road and Birchfield Road, to come forward.

The woman or anyone whose vehicle was damaged should call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
