Appeal after fatal Irchester crash

A crash in Irchester last night (Friday) was fatal, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the Gipsy Lane/Wollaston Road junction at about 5.35pm after the incident.

In an appeal for witnesses, Northamptonshire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit said the single-vehicle crash involved a white Ford Focus.

The driver of the Ford Focus, a 46-year-old man, was given first aid by members of the public as well as paramedics but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses, anyone with information or anyone with dash-cam or CCTV footage of the incident should call police on 101 or the Drivewatch hotline on 0800 174615.
