19-year-old from Northampton who had two stun guns given custodial sentence

A teenager from Northampton who was found with two stun guns has been sentenced to eight months in a young offender institution.

Alamin Mohammed, aged 19, was arrested near the Racecourse after a plain clothes police officer on a bicycle smelt cannabis.

The vehicle that Mohammed was in was searched by the officer and a quantity of cannabis was discovered.

Officers then searched his home address in St James, Northampton, and found another large bag of cannabis and a quantity of cocaine. In total, he had 99 grams of cannabis and three grams of cocaine.

The search also uncovered two stun guns capable of firing an electric current.

Mohammed pleaded guilty to charges of possessing class A and class C drugs and two charges of possessing an illegal weapon.

Judge Michael Fowler sentenced Mohammed to a total of 32 weeks in a young offender institution.
