Child taken to hospital after collision with van on busy Northampton road

A child has been taken to hospital after a collision with a van.

The incident happened in Lings Way between Crestwood Road and Goldings Road and the stretch of road has been closed since around 8.30am today (September 25).

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue service tweeted to confirm crews were on the scene dealing with a road traffic collision.

Police and paramedics are also at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Police said: "This was called in at about 8.30am this morning and involved a van and a child in Lings Way.

"The child has been taken to Birmingham Children Hospital."

The spokeswoman also that the road remains closed in both directions.
