The groups have all been awarded funding throught the borough council’s Partnership Grant Scheme and the council is now accepting applications for next year’s Partnership Fund.

Around 20 organisations were at the event, including Door-to-Door and Shopmobility, Relate, Tools for Self Reliance, Age UK, Women’s Aid and Reelscape.

The Partnership Fund Grant Scheme is designed to bring to life partnership between the Council and the Northampton Voluntary and Community Sector for the improvement of local communities. The scheme could see funding being given to groups and organisations that do positive work in Northampton. Grants are available to groups and organisations working in the community and voluntary sector.

Councillor Brandon Eldred, Northampton Borough Council cabinet member for Community Engagement, said: “There are some really praiseworthy groups in Northampton who help people in need and make our local communities better. The Partnership Grant can make a real difference in helping them continue the work they are doing do and we would encourage other groups who are not yet signed up to make an application.”

Applications must be for a minimum of £3,000 and will be accepted from registered charities, unregistered voluntary or community groups, registered charitable companies limited by guarantee and Social Enterprises.
